About me
As I've said my name is Rebecca. I started flight training at the end of 2023 and passed my PPL checkride in June of 2024. I am currently flying a C172. I'm a full time working mom, and I live on a farm -- so I am very busy, but I love aviation. I still have a lot to learn but I am loving every minute of it!
About Air Place
Not only am I new to aviation, but we are a new company. We started operating in mid 2024 out of my home. We currently have headsets rented in 11 states across the country, and we are hoping to be in all 50. Headset rental has been an idea I have been thinking about since I started working on my PPL. I noticed right away that there were few options for ANR headsets. You can buy new, and if you go through someone like Sporty's you have a 30 day return policy, or you can try to find something used on eBay or Marketplace, but those were a risk and they weren't even that much cheaper. On top of my personal experiences, I was seeing people on the internet in Facebook groups and forums specifically asking about headset rental companies, and nothing existed.
So I decided to "go for it" and start Air Place. We are new, but I am passionate about this. I genuinely want to help people get access to the flexibility headset rental offers - whether it is because they have a short time period they need them, or because they aren't sure if they will like them and don't want to spend over $1,000 without knowing, or because they can't afford to purchase yet, or because they aren't sure they want to continue flight training. It doesn't matter what someone's reason is, I want headset rental to be an affordable option for aviators.
