When you’re looking to rent an aviation headset for the first time, it’s normal to have questions. At Air Place, we work with student pilots, instructors, and seasoned flyers every day—so we’ve heard it all.
Here are the most common questions we get from new customers (and the answers you’ve been looking for).
1. How does the rental process work?
It’s simple:
Pick your headset.
Create your account.
We ship it to you—shipping is free at the start and end of your rental.
When you’re done, just visit the return page on our website or contact us for a prepaid return label. That’s it.
2. Do I need to sign a long-term contract?
No. Rentals are billed monthly, and you can return your headset whenever you’re done.
3. What if I’m not sure which headset to choose?
That’s what we’re here for. Try before you buy!
4. Do all your headsets have Bluetooth?
No. Most of our headsets include Bluetooth for app alerts, calls, and other cockpit uses—but the David Clark H10 is a passive, non-Bluetooth model for pilots who prefer a simpler setup.
5. Do you rent to instructors?
Yes! Many instructors rent from us to avoid the cost of buying their headsets outright.
6. Where do you ship?
We rent to pilots in all 50 U.S. states.
7. Can I buy my headset after renting it?
We are strictly a rental service. When you’re finished, you return the headset.
8. How soon will my headset arrive?
Orders typically ship within one business day, and most customers receive their headset in 3–5 business days, depending on location.
9. Can I switch to a different headset during my rental?
Yes. If you’d like to try a different model, you can sign up for one. Contact us and we’ll arrange a return label and ship your new choice.
10. Are headsets cleaned and inspected between rentals?
Absolutely. Every headset is inspected, tested, and thoroughly sanitized before it goes out to the next customer.
Have a question that’s not on this list?
We’d be happy to answer it—reach out to us anytime. We’re here to make your flying experience better, one flight at a time.
